Welcome, Valve Minion!
Rampage Wrestling Installer
Some notes about the game
I started with a 20 page Word Perfect document from the game designer that defined the how the game's flow worked.
We liked to say, "If professional wrestling were real, Rampage Wrestling would be the perfect simulation."
It was writen in C with Borland C++ 3.1 on a 486DX2/50 running OS/2 2.0
The target platform was an 8086 with 640K of RAM and one 5.25 inch floppy drive.
The executables were processed with PKLite that compressed the files so they could fit on one floppy.
It was started in November of 1992 while I was taking my second undergraduate programming course (both in Pascal) but had yet to take C. It was complete and published in March of 1994.
The title screen, match setup logic, and the game runtime together were too large to fit into 640K. The solution was to have the title screen program (rampage.exe) launch the match setup program (game.exe). Game.exe saved it's state to a binary file. Ramapge.exe would launch gamecall.exe which would load the binary state file and play the game.
The publisher stopped paying me about 18 months after release becuase he thought that version 2.0 should have come out by then. 2.0 nover happened.
The game has one known defect: There are disasters
